Shit, girls, I don't even know where to start!
I have watched this a couple of times now and I am still so unsure of what I want to write. Some great comedic moments there, but also a lot of heartache. So let's do it step by step.
1. Liz trying to go all "uninvolved" just made me laugh - because regardless of whether she thinks he killed her or not, there's no impersonality in investigating your sister's death.
2. Can I get a better glimpse of that tattoo on Max's side, please?
3. I think I'm a little in love with Kyle - him defending Alex to Jesse Manes? Priceless.
4. Shit, Max's just a little ball of uncontrolled power trying to hold itself together with gum, no?
5. Isabel's shirt - just no. I mean, NO.
6. Kyle saying: "Is it because he's tall?" was just great. Comedy genius moment #1
7. Reason's why the boy's morning bed scene is the best thing since sliced bread:
a. the familiarity and the fact that we know that are few days have elapsed presupposes that they have been hooking up since
b. Michael's face is so open and happy when he says "you stayed", and then he immediately starts to touch Alex, as if trying to prove to himself he's tangible - not a mirage. Beautiful and heartbreaking
c. Then that intake of breath when Alex touches him and the way he's so disarmed - you can see plain in his face he'll do anything for that man. He'll give him anything he asks.
8. Then Isabel shows up, and Alex messes the whole thing up, but I think they need that. Michael is so hurt by Alex's actions, and I don't think Alex realises that whenever he does something like that he's just reinforcing Michael's belief that he's not worth anything to anyone. And I know it's not on purpose, Alex is really fucked up on his own, but I think this sense that Michael has that the Evans didn't want him, his foster families didn't want him, his alien family didn't want him, Alex only wants hi as long as no one knows is the only reason why he stands for everything Alex puts him through. It makes me wanna hold him tight and never let go.
9. Comedy genius moment #2: "Please say sexually." Followed by Isabel's look of pure disgust. That stuff had me laughing for a full minute. I actually paused the recording.
10. I like more Maria. We should get even more Maria. Plus the whole treasure map teen drama was kinda awesome. Why didn't I do that when I was 15?
11. I still love Cam. Just putting it out there. Even is she is dating Max. He's so carefree around her, I think she's good for him.
12. "Maria, she's dead. Spill."
13. I'm starting to like cardboard cutout Ken.
14. Alex realising he fucked up and biting his lips afraid he might have pushed Michael too far was sweet. His relief when Michael accepts his olive branch is beautiful (told you Michael would do absolutely anything for him). And is that a semi-date in a public place? Be still my heart.
15. See? Now I notice how much taller Nathan Parsons is than Michael Trevino.
16. Held together with gum, I say. He's about 3 hours from going completely kaputt.
17. Fuck you, Jesse Manes. Fuck you and the high horse you rode in.
18. The mind-warping is so different it threw me for a loop there.
19. Isabel is a dreamer now. Who woulda thunk it?
20. Alex, don't let yourself be fooled by the voice in your head. That's just your father. Tell him to shut up, go over there in kiss your man. No? I guess resolution with no conflict is just not good storytelling, ain't it?
21. "All the Chads end up being Chads." This made me laugh because i've only ever known one Chad: RosDude. And he always seemed like a nice enough guy, but now I have this whole background story for him in my head.
22. Go Liz! You're also emotionally stunted!
23. I'll forgive the leap to thinking Max was sleeping with Rosa because she was high.
24. Cam is a girl with a plan and a checklist. I can respect that.
25. Go Kyle telling off his mom to her face.
26. The scene with Max and Liz's confrontation was the first time I felt some real chemistry between those two. See how easy it is to get answers when you actually ask the questions, Liz?
27. I feel like a 13-year-old boy. My mind went straight to the gutter when Michael said: "You wanna go for a ride?" (in my disco stick)
28. Alex you moron. But I'm just glad the conflict between them is not coming from a love triangle with Maria.
29. Max is wearing his heart on his sleeve - it makes me wanna cry.
30. Cutout Ken is called Noah in my head now.
31. Kyle won the night with his "they are taking their sweet time" comment. He won the year. Thank you Kyle.
32. And the gum gave out... told you. Holy shit!
